How To Make Two Bedrooms Out Of One
MOST mums would say there's nothing worse than listening to the kids squabble over something silly.
We do almost anything to get their children to quieten down, but one mum went one step further than most parents by building a cheap stud wall to keep her two daughters happy.
The savvy mum-of-two was sick of hearing her daughters argue over their shared bedroom.
Like many siblings, the two girls originally shared a bedroom in the family home.
However, when the shared space came to cause too many arguments, the savvy mum created two bedrooms in one space by erecting a cheap stud wall.
She showed off her clever parenting hack on the Facebook group DIY On A Budget UK.
She explained: "My nearly eight-year-old was getting upset at how many messy her four-year-old sister is, and [they were] arguing each day [about] what film who was watching."
So, she erected a stud wall in the middle of the room, partitioning off half to each girl.
Made from timber or wood, stud walls are a cheap and fairly straightforward way to add a partition into rooms.
The method requires 4x2 timber, a tape measure, nails and a saw to construct the frame.
The woman might have done this or called in an expert. Either way, it's a cheap and quick fix.
Explaining her future plans to add a more homely touch to the new partition, the mum added: "It's not finished as it needs plastering and then will be painted.
"But I thought it was a clever way to divide the room so both girls have their own space.
"Eventually will be decorated to their own choice. Two happy girls."
